What school-leaving qualification is expected?
For an apprenticeship as a metalworker, at least a secondary school-leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss) is recommended.

What skills should I bring?
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination (e.g. when screwing and riveting metal components)
• Diligence (e.g. when fitting components or producing welded joints)
• Technical understanding (e.g. when maintaining technical systems)
• Spatial awareness (e.g. producing components according to technical drawings)
• Good physical condition and a head for heights (e.g. lifting heavy components, working on scaffolding or work platforms)

Your tasks at Augustin Entsorgung:
• Processing and machining of light metals or steel
• Manufacture and assembly of metal components
• Modification of machinery and cutting/forming of metal plates, pipes, or profiles
• Creation of custom-made products and performing welding work
• Maintenance and servicing / repair of containers, machine components, and our plastic sorting plant

Duration of apprenticeship:
The duration of the apprenticeship to become a metalworker is 3.5 years.

Apprenticeship remuneration:
• 1st year: €1,150.00
• 2nd year: €1,250.00
• 3rd year: €1,350.00
• 4th year: €1,370.00

Split between vocational school/company:
• 1st year: 2 days school – 3 days company
• 2nd year: 1 day school – 4 days company
• 3rd year: 1 day school – 4 days company
• 4th year: 1 day school – 4 days company
• Holiday entitlement: 27 days per year
